Recover Account or Password

Refer to the applicable section below for directions.

Unlock Account

Locked accounts automatically unlock after 60 minutes. Before attempting to unlock the account, confirm the username and password were entered correctly. Another option is to reset the password. If these options do not work, it may be a connectivity issue, which can be solved by trying these:

  • Refresh the ILogin page
  • Close the web browser session and restart it
  • Clear browser cache
  • If on a computer, restart it
  • Check the Wi-Fi, modem, and/or router

To unlock the account before 60 minutes, on the ILogin Sign In page, click Unlock account.

  1. On the Unlock account page, enter the email address.
  2. Select a recovery option and proceed to the applicable subsection below:
    • Option: Email
    • Option: Phone    

Forgot Password

To reset the password after signing in, refer to the Change Password section on the Change ILogin Profile page.

If the password has been forgotten, reset it using these options.

  1. On the ILogin Sign In page, enter the Email or Username and click Next.
  2. Click Forgot password.
  3. Select a recovery option and proceed to the applicable subsection below:
    • Option: Email
    • Option: Phone    

 

Option: Email

  1. If the Email option is selected, click Send me an email.
  2. Open the email from State of Illinois <ILogin.No-Reply@illinois.gov>.
  3. Click the Unlock Account button. A verification message appears.
  4. Click Back to sign in and sign in again.

After the account is unlocked, refer to the Forgot Password section above.

Option: Phone

  1. If the Phone option is selected, choose one of the following options:
    • Receive a code via SMS
    • Receive a voice call instead
  2. The Enter Code and Verify options display.
  3. Enter the code received from the SMS or the voice call and click Verify.
